What It’s Really Like Streaming a Game During Launch Week…

Resident Evil 9 Requiem came out on Feb 27, and I’m streaming it, everyday, at 7pm, until I finish it. Setting up for a stream on a game’s launch day, specifically a Resident Evil game, has loads of pressure it gives you. From prepping for it, to making announcements (but not wanting to sound pushy and spammy with posts about it) Making sure you post enough Youtube content, youtube shorts, X posts, etc… And then setting up for the game itself.

The pressure was the main thing for me. Not wanting to blow it, making sure I do the game justice with what I’m playing and saying about it. Knowing that, since it’s launch day/week, this is THE peak time to stream it as a content creator. But, also knowing that if I don’t title the live stream and have a sick thumbnail, and I’m not entertaining enough during stream, the stream tanks. And thus, my income is lower. Pressure builds the more you think about it….

The trick is, setup everything before hand, so all you have to do is hit “Go Live”… then, don’t think about it. Be yourself, have a great time, and the rest will fall into place.

The fact that it’s Resident Evil 9, is a huge win. It took me awhile to get into the Resident Evil series, but I’m so glad I found them when I did. It is one of THE BEST video game series I have ever played. And the community surrounding the franchise is one of the best, and I’m honored to be apart of it.

Playing a game during launch week is taxing… I’m only a couple days in, and I’m already exhausted. But, I’m also thrilled. Everyone has been so nice, and just hanging with the community is a blast.

I wouldn’t trade this job for anything. I thank God everyday that He gave me this as my career. As my passion.

And also a huge thanks to all of you. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be where I am today. And it’s just getting started.
